Welcome to back to the Shared Practices Podcast! This week we have the guest that has been on the podcast with the most episodes, Dr. Justin Short. Justin founded The Lifestyle Practice. Our last episode with Justin (the final episode of his mini-series), he let us know that he would be selling his dental practice at 38 years old! This episode George is checking in with Justin to see how retired life is treating him and how Justin got to where he is today. Justin explains his vision and goals and what he did to accomplish them. Justin wanted to build his life vision and then build his practice around that life vision. This is our last episode for Season 3. This season has been all about Startups. In this episode George highlights the key points from our guests throughout the season. We wanted to tell the stories of people going through a startup (both the good and the bad). We also wanted you to know that you can be successful in both a startup or an acquisition by having realistic expectations from the people who have gone through it. One of the biggest benefits of a startup is being able to customize your location and vision. George talks about timelines, growth strategies, some of the setbacks, and the integral professionals that you need when you are going through a startup.

Brian specializes in tenant and buyer representation for dental clients throughout the United States. Too often dentists don’t have any representation when dealing with the landlords and their brokers. It costs them huge amounts of money in the long term. In this interview George and Brian talk about how to find the best real estate and negotiate key terms of the lease to the dentist’s advantage. Brian also talks about the real estate timeline for a startup as well as how dentists that are looking to startup or even renewing a lease can benefit from a buyer’s broker.
